Freeze the pile
Throw a wild card on the discard pile and it freezes for everyone until somebody takes it.

Rummy and melding · 4 players in two partnerships
Canasta is a partnership game played with two decks, four jokers and plenty of wild cards. You and your partner build melds of one rank, push them seven deep for a canasta, and fight over a discard pile that can freeze against you.
Canasta is one of the 21 games in Cards Royale.

How it plays
Two full decks plus four jokers make 108 cards, eleven to each player, with jokers and twos wild and red threes going straight down as bonuses.
Draw one card or take the whole pile, meld cards of one rank with your partner, and discard one card to finish your turn.
Natural canastas score 500 and mixed ones 300, red threes add bonuses, and the first side to 5,000 points wins.

The moments you play for
Two partners and a long evening.
Throw a wild card on the discard pile and it freezes for everyone until somebody takes it.
Meld the top card at once and the entire discard pile is yours, buried cards and all.
Lay down your whole hand in one turn, with nothing melded before, and going out scores two hundred instead of one hundred.
